Job Description

The Sales Performance & Development Specialist role is designed as a commercial, analytical, and cross functional entry point for emerging talent within VWFS. The position provides hands on exposure across sales steering, performance analytics, product knowledge, and strategic project execution. This role serves as a structured development pathway for early career professionals who aspire to progress into more senior commercial, sales strategy, or leadership positions. The successful candidate will gain meaningful experience in retail and wholesale finance, dealer network dynamics, pricing influences, brand management, and collaboration across multiple corporate functions.

Tasks:

1.  Sales Steering & Reporting

  • Support the Director of Sales with accurate and structured reporting of sales performance and market trends.
  • Build and maintain dashboards that identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
  • Conduct foundational analyses (volumes, conversion rates, channels, campaigns) and translate findings into actionable insights.

 

2. Commercial & Product Development

  • Build understanding of VWFS retail and wholesale finance products (e.g., consumer finance, chattel mortgage, novated solutions, residual structures, dealer wholesale facilities).
  • Gain exposure to product lifecycle, pricing inputs, and dealer profitability drivers.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Brand Management to understand how product design supports commercial outcomes.

 

3. Sales Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

  • Contribute to sales process enhancements, optimisation of campaign performance, data quality improvements, and digital enablement initiatives.
  • Coordinate project activities and track deliverables under guidance from senior leaders.
  • Support implementation of recommendations aimed at improving dealer profitability, customer outcomes, and operational efficiency.

 

4. Cross Functional Collaboration

Work across the business to gain an end-to-end understanding of the sales ecosystem, including:

  • Strategy Office: market insights and strategic initiatives
  • Pricing: margin analysis, competitiveness, dealer profitability impacts
  • Brand & Product Management: product positioning, sales campaigns
  • Sales Leadership / OEM Partners: meeting preparation, materials, support activities

This cross functional exposure accelerates early commercial development.

 

5. Communication & Presentation

  • Develop presentations and materials for senior leadership and OEM stakeholders.
  • Prepare concise insights and summaries for decision making.
  • Build professional communication capability through dealer and internal interactions.

  • 1–3 years' experience in sales, operations, administration, or customer-facing roles
  • Experience in automotive, dealer networks, or financial services is advantageous but not required
  • Exposure to CRM or BI tools preferred
  • Early in career and ambitious to develop commercially
  • Analytical, curious, and eager to build cross-functional capability
  • Enjoy working with data and solving commercial problems
  • Organised, proactive, and confident communicators
