We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support our Accounting Operations team on a 7 month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and structured environment, with exposure to a broad range of accounting activities within a dynamic automotive finance setting
About the Role
Reporting to the Accounting Operations Manager, you will play a key role in managing end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards, and driving continuous improvement across financial operations.
What you'll do
- Manage and facilitate accounting processes, including journals, revenue recognition, lease accounting, accruals, and provisions
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Maintain the fixed assets register and related reconciliations
- Provide technical accounting support across loans, leases, and finance products
- Oversee daily accounting operations across retail, wholesale, and fleet functions
- Monitor and review payments, invoices, and dealer transactions
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Support financial reporting and ad hoc projects
What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Progressing towards CA or CPA qualification
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Previous experience in automotive finance or financial services (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Confident communicator with the ability to support and guide team members
