Job Description
This role is the key contact point for brand based credit lending. The Senior Retail Credit Officer will be responsible for handling escalations on credit applications and complex matters. They will also mentor and assist credit analysts with assessing credit applications received from dealers to exceed Retail Credit KPIs.
What you will do:
Assess Credit Applications:
Act as the key escalation contact point
Apply increased approval discretions and deal making flexibility
Take ownership of high balance applications and Prestige applications up to $285k
Assess credit decisions within set requirements and follow procedures.
Always provide sound advice regarding process / guidelines.
Handling the more complex applications:
Deal with any credit applications which are escalated by Retail Credit Officers or dealers.
Identify what is required to allow the application to proceed.
Liaise with dealer and third parties as required to resolve any issues or obtain necessary information.
Consult with the Manager if required to finalise applications.
Complete complex transactions outside of your lending delegation and refer to senior management with recommendations
Maintain Appropriate Documentation for Credit Applications:
Ensure that approvals have been documented and filed in a consistent manner, with all relevant documents and forms attached, completed correctly and uploaded to the document management system.
Process customer requests efficiently and in a timely manner.
What you will bring:
Tertiary education in Finance is desirable
Minimum 3-4 years in retail lending
Demonstrated understanding of the NCCP regulations and responsible lending obligations
Experience in automotive finance or retail environment is desirable
Experience working in a similar environment including a demonstrated ability to identify and develop alternative solutions to problems
Ability to handle escalations and complex matters
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to actively and accurately listen to all parties
Ability to respond to questions with confidence, demonstrating knowledge and experience
Strong negotiations skills and stakeholder engagement
Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual looking to progress their career in Lending
