Job Description
Purpose of the role:
The role sits within VWFS’s Strategy, Brand and Product Development Division and is instrumental in leading the transformation toward a BEV-focused financial services model. The BEV Product Development Specialist will drive the design, enhancement, and optimisation of innovative financial products and services that support the uptake of Battery Electric Vehicles across captive, non-captive, and used car markets within the Volkswagen Group ecosystem.
The role is accountable for the entire product lifecycle from ideation to delivery and continuous improvement—ensuring alignment with VWFS's goals to increase customer engagement, boost ARPC and CLV, and drive profitability in a rapidly evolving market. Working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners, the specialist will ensure VWFS's BEV offerings are competitive, compliant, and future-ready.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Product Management & Innovation - Lead the development and lifecycle management of BEV-focused financial products and programs, including offerings for captive, non-captive, and used vehicle markets within the VW ecosystem.
Product Planning & Compliance - Design and implement robust product management plans that meet volume, mix, profitability, legal, and risk requirements, ensuring compliance with VWFS, VW Group, and partner policies.
Training & Enablement - Develop and deliver BEV-specific training modules for internal teams (front and back office), dealership staff, and business managers to drive product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement - Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external business partners. Lead steering committees and produce executive dashboards and reports to support decision-making.
Strategic Project Leadership - Prepare and present strategic and financial analyses. Own the end-to-end delivery of BEV-related strategic initiatives—from concept to execution—to future-proof the product portfolio.
Market Intelligence & Business Insights - Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, customer analysis, and forecasting to identify short-, medium-, and long-term opportunities for BEV market growth and customer penetration.
Pricing Strategy & Forecasting - Lead pricing reviews and analysis for BEV products, contributing to financial planning and profitability through strategic price positioning and accurate sales forecasting.
Go-to-Market & Marketing Support - Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to gain real-time insights from dealerships and customers. Support marketing strategy and communications to maximise product visibility and uptake.
Risk & Legal Governance - Develop and maintain compliant product documentation, including contracts and application materials. Ensure all BEV product communications and offerings adhere to legal, tax, and risk frameworks.
Key requirements for the role:
