Job Description
The Accounting Operations Manager is second in charge to the Director of Finance and Treasury for all Accounting Operations related matters. This role also coordinates External Audits and Internal Audits of the Accounting Operations function of the business.
As a people manager, this role is responsible for providing adequate training to all team members, managing business continuity through cross training and supporting the personal career development goals of the team members.
What you'll do?
Manage the Accounting Operations Function
Manage the month-end close process and the year-end close process
Manage the external audit process (in conjunction with the Group & Regulatory Reporting Manager) and act as key point of contact for auditors for all Accounting Operations matters.
Coordinate Internal Audits of the Accounting Operations function of the business, and collaborate with Director of Finance and Treasury, Group & Regulatory Reporting Manager and Treasury & Securitisation Manager in relation to Internal Audits of the wider Finance function.
Contribute to the “continuous improvement” approach; identify and convert on opportunities for process improvement in the areas of major responsibility.
Ad-hoc tasks as advised by Director of Finance and Treasury.
What you'll bring?
Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance
At least 8 years’ experience in Accounting Operations and/or Financial Accounting
Good technical knowledge of AASB and IFRS accounting standards
Advanced IT skill set (SAP, MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to understand and manage complex financial and corporate structures, including securitisation through SPVs
Excellent organisation and time management skills and ability to work within tight deadlines and in team
Ability to act as Finance SME in key projects and/or provide guidance to team members with regard to the delivery and implementation of projects
Ability to manage staff effectively and to support the team’s development of skills and knowledge; previous staff management experience is desirable
Experience in auto finance industry is an advantage
